Finland studies avian influenza case in farmed mink

An avian influenza an infection has been present in farmed minks in Alavieska, in line with the Finnish Meals Authority. That is the primary case of avian influenza in a fur farm in Northern Ostrobothnia. The case reveals that the chance of avian influenza infections just isn’t but over and it’s essential for fur farms to proceed taking protecting measures, stated the authorities.

Extremely pathogenic sort H5N1 avian influenza has been discovered at 27 fur farms in complete. With the newest case being the exception, these instances have been discovered within the areas of South and Central Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia in July and August.

The case of avian influenza in Alavieska was discovered by the Finnish Meals Authority on 27 September in research carried out after the proprietor of the fur farm reported the signs and deaths of the animals to the municipal veterinarian. Finnish Meals Authority orders all animals to be culled on the fur farm. The supply of an infection on the farm is being investigated.

An avian influenza survey of all fur farms in Finland was launched in September. Sampling has progressed as deliberate. The primary outcomes of the survey are to be revealed shortly.
