Mirror Check within the Woods

Canine seems to be in a mirror (picture from Wikimedia Commons)

Once we look in a mirror we all know we’re taking a look at ourselves, however most animals can not grasp this. In truth, child people don’t acknowledge themselves in mirrors till about age two.

@KeepingItWild arrange an enormous mirror within the woods in Australia (i.e. “the bush”) and captured animal reactions. Curiously lots of the animals on this 8-minute video should not native to Australia. For example: purple deer, rabbits and pheasants.

The one animals recognized to have handed the mirror check are nice apes, a single Asiatic elephant, the Eurasian magpie, big oceanic manta raysdolphinsorcas, and the cleaner wrasse (fish).

Sadly, in flight most birds are fully fooled. They fly into the reflection and die.
