In early April WildlifeKate (@katemacrae) launched us to a pair of Eurasian nuthatches (Sitta europaea) who have been transforming a nestbox she’d supplied at Gwyllt Hole in southern Wales.
The sitting room was lovely earlier than they yanked out the decorations, added mud to the partitions, and crammed the room with dried leaves as much as the chair rail.
Having constructed the nest to their liking the feminine laid eggs that hatched final Sunday 12 Might. (sure there’s a rooster on the sound monitor.)
This pair now has a big and hungry household.
The chicks are rising quick. As of this morning their eyes are nonetheless closed.
