South Korea’s MFG tenders for 70,000 T corn, merchants say


The corn might be used for livestock feed

South Korea’s Main Feedmill Group (MFG) has issued a global tender to buy as much as 70,000 metric tons of animal feed corn to be sourced from both South America or South Africa solely, Reuters reported, citing European merchants on Friday.

The deadline for submission of value affords within the tender can be Friday, Aug. 23.

The corn is hunted for arrival in South Korea in a single consignment round Dec. 23. Between 55,000 and 70,000 tons are sought, with the vendor free to resolve the amount to be provided inside this vary.

Cargo is sought between Oct. 25 and Nov. 13 if sourced from South America or Nov. 4 and Nov. 23 if from South Africa.

Value affords within the tender are sought each in outright phrases per ton value and freight included (c&f) or at a premium over the Chicago December corn contract.

Affords over $235 a ton c&f won’t be accepted, merchants mentioned.

Asian import curiosity was sparked after Chicago Board of Commerce corn futures fell on Thursday as robust outcomes from a serious crop tour in the US strengthened expectations of bumper US harvest, merchants added.
