Stouffville, ON (Sept. 3, 2024) – As the children head again to highschool, the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is recruiting volunteers to hitch its group of AnimalSmart™ volunteers to ship humane schooling to lecture rooms throughout the province.
The Ontario SPCA presents free AnimalSmart™ shows for Grades 1-8 in its animal centre communities, with the purpose to foster empathy, promote duty and encourage a reference to animals. A brand new theme is launching this fall – Animals within the Group – and extra volunteers are wanted.
“Listening to the scholars’ enthusiasm after they speak about their pets, seeing their faces after they understand that animals have feelings too, and listening to how they are often caring to animals may be very fulfilling to me,” says AnimalSmart volunteer Cory Philip, who has offered to 17 lessons, reaching over 325 college students. “It offers me hope when younger kids speak about being sort to animals as an extension of being sort to one another.”
