27 years of serving to animals in want


In some ways, Carol Hyperlink’s life has been outlined by serving animals. With over 30 years within the area, she’s performed all of it—beginning out in Nova Scotia as an animal care attendant and animal cruelty investigator, then bringing her abilities and fervour to Ontario. Now, after 27 years on the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, and 16 years because the supervisor of the Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre, Carol is retiring. 

Getting began on the Ontario SPCA 

Carol started working with animals when she was 18 and residing in Nova Scotia. She says typically she thinks working in animal welfare is one thing that chooses you, not the opposite method round. 

“I feel I knew proper from the start that this was one thing I wished to be part of,” says Carol. “That I wanted to be that voice for the animals.” 

After shifting to Ontario from Nova Scotia, Carol says she labored for the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA, finally becoming a member of the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre in Brockville the place she labored for 11 years in animal care Then, about 16 years in the past, an animal centre supervisor position opened on the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre. Carol has been there ever since.  

“Animals are a giant a part of my life, and I can’t think about it some other method. I feel it’s simply time handy over the reins and I’m excited to see what comes,” says Carol. 

Altering the lives of animals in want 

Throughout her time with the group, Carol says she has seen many adjustments and skilled completely different joys and challenges. Nonetheless, she says seeing the every day affect made within the lives of animals and group members makes all of it worthwhile.  

Through the years she’s additionally personally fostered extra animals than she will be able to depend, and presently has six adopted pets at house. 

“Whether or not it’s so simple as with the ability to assist a household in order that the animal doesn’t have to return to the shelter, or rehoming animals and listening to their adoption tales, that’s massive for me,” says Carol. 

On to the subsequent journey 

Carol says this work has molded her in a number of methods, and that she’s grateful to all of the folks she’s had the pleasure of working with through the years. She says she’s excited to see what is going to come subsequent for Cornwall. 

“I’m very grateful to have been a part of this household,” says Carol.  

We want Carol all the perfect as she spends time along with her household, two canines and 4 cats in her retirement. We look ahead to what the long run holds for the animals in our group because of Carol’s years of dedication and dedication to animal well-being.
