BC Uncommon Fowl Alert: RBA: ORIENTAL TURTLE-DOVE in Surrey


At 4:36pm on April 17-2024, Cos van Wermeskerken discovered an Oriental Turtle-Dove sitting on the grass on the fringe of the slough close to Dunsmuir St at Blackie Spit.

He watched the chook for just a few minutes earlier than it flew west and excessive over the intersection of Dunsmuir St.and Gilley St. He was unable to relocate the chook.

That is the 4th report for BC and is listed as ABA Code 4.

At 6:55pm on April 18th, Ilya Povalyaev and Melissa Hafting relocated the dove at a feeder at a non-public residence on the nook of Agar St and McBride Ave.

Please be respectful of personal property and don’t block driveways or level cameras at home windows of personal properties.

The chook was briefly there earlier than flying south and excessive at 7:05pm over Sullivan Road.

On April twenty fourth, the chook continued on the similar feeder and has been considered by a number of observers.

The chook was not relocated on April 25 or 26, regardless of a number of observers trying.

**Please don’t unfold seed down within the neighborhood on the request of house owners, as it could appeal to rats**
