Texas agriculture: a story of rainfall haves and have-nots


COLLEGE STATION, Texas — On the subject of rainfall and the next soil moisture that fuels agricultural manufacturing, the state is made up of haves and have-nots, in keeping with Texas A&M College AgriLife Extension Service consultants.

Dr. Larry Stein, AgriLife Extension horticulturist within the Texas A&M Division of Horticultural Sciences, Uvalde, and Dr. Jourdan Bell, Amarillo and Dr. Ronnie Schnell, Bryan-School Station, each AgriLife Extension agronomists within the Division of Soil and Crop Sciences, gave blended reviews on soil moisture ranges across the state.
