Waders obtained respectable illustration at this time with a Dotterel seen transferring north by observers stationed at SW Subject and Airfield. A lone Whimbrel and two singles of Ringed Plover on the transfer, certainly one of which accompanied by 2 Dunlin. A Sandwich Tern was heard within the Touchdown Bay and glorious protection noticed extra month-to-month totals smashed, this time Shag with 82 people recorded throughout the island. The immature Cormorant was seen wing-drying by Quarter Wall Pond and a grownup moved alongside the west coast. Two Yellow Wagtail supplied a splash of color and three White Wagtail had been logged throughout Millcombe, Stoneycroft and the village.
Lastly, after a report of 4 attention-grabbing dragonfly at Pondsbury yesterday, two male Vagrant Emperor had been confirmed hawking over the water, together with a 4-spotted Chaser. That is simply the 4th incidence of Vagrant Emperor for Lundy (the three earlier information had been in Sep 2015, Feb 2019 and Oct 2020). This follows on from an unprecedented inflow to Devon and Cornwall in latest weeks!
